Nursery Admissions
Ealing Council publishes the admissions criteria for all community Primary schools every year. Please visit Ealing Schools Admissions to view current determined admissions arrangements.
To apply for a place at Grange Nursery, you need to make an application directly to the school office. Children are eligible to attend our Nursery after their 3rd birthday.

Healthy fruits are also available throughout the day for a snack
Nursery Admissions Criteria
Admission to a nursery class does not guarantee a place in a Reception Class. Places are offered on the following criteria:
1. Children who are looked after or were previously looked after children.
2. Children who appear to have been in state care outside of England.
3. Siblings. Children with a brother or sister who will be attending the main school (not the nursery class) at the time of admission.
4. Distance from home to school. Places are allocated to applicants who live closest to the school measured by a straight line.
We have 4 members of staff. 1 teacher, and at least 3 fully qualified early years practitioners. The ratio of adults to children is at least 1:13
Timings of Nursery & Wrap Around Care
There are 3 Nursery session times
- Morning: 8.45am – 11.45am
- Afternoon: 12.30pm – 3.30pm
- All Day Nursery: 8.45am – 2.45pm (3.30pm with a £3 per day charge)
- 7:45am—6pm Daily childcare possible with wraparound care
Junior Adventures Group (Our breakfast and after school club provider) offer wrap- around care in the mornings and afternoons for Nursery-aged children. Breakfast club starts at 7:45am, and the JAG staff will then take the children to the Nursery. The after school club finishes at 18:00. Government Funded 15/30 hours available
All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours of Government Funded child-care per week for 38 weeks of the year. Eligible parents can access an additional 15 hours of Government Funded childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year, bringing the total number of Government Funded hours to 30 per week (criteria applied, application needed) Grange Nursery accepts Tax-Free childcare payments, a wide variety of Childcare Vouchers and card payments, allowing fully flexibil4 payment options. Meals and other resources are not covered by the Government funded childcare entitlement.
What will my child learn at nursery?
Staff plan using the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework as set out by the Department for Education. Learning is sequenced and carefully planned out. We have curriculum maps, progression frameworks and unit overviews. All nursery curriculum information can be found on our school website.
Do Nursery children need to wear uniform?
We have a simple uniform for our Nursery children. It consists of a Grange sweatshirt and /or a plain black/navy/white t-shirt with black/navy joggers or leggings. Grange sweatshirts and book bags are available from Juniper uniform in West Ealing. https://www.juniperuniform.com/

Starting Reception
Grange admits 90 children into Reception, organised into 3 classes in our EYFS school building. Children can start school in Reception during the school year in which they have their 5th birthday.
